Young Voices on the Future of Multilateralism

Oct. 28, 2020 from 4 p.m.5:30 p.m.

Help us put young voices and ideas front and center and contribute to the Initiative ‘Young Voices on the Future of Multilateralism’!

The Young Global Changers are thrilled to invite you to contribute to the initiative "Young Voices on the Future of Multilateralism" and to participate in an Online Event on October 23 at 4pm (CEST) and an accompanying online survey. <> Join the conversation and provide feedback to the United Nations and the German Foreign Office.

On October 23 we will reflect on the future of international collaboration and multilateralism and on how to include the voices of the global youth in an interactive online debate. We will discuss with young changemakers from around the world and are aiming to include your voice as well! See below about how you can contribute. With the event, the Young Global Changers are proudly contributing to the UN75 Global Dialogue Series of the United Nations. The event aims to answer the recent call by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres for new and innovative thinking on multilateralism and global governance. The results of the online debate will be included in our feedback to the United Nations. I am delighted to inform you that UN Under Secretary General, H.E. Fabrizio Hochschild-Drummond will open the event. Register here for the event.

At the event and in our feedback to the UN we aim to include as many voices and ideas from our community as possible. That is why we would like to invite you to provide your feedback on the current status and the future of multilateralism via our online survey. For the survey we are also partnering with the German Foreign Office to provide feedback on their current efforts to strengthen multilateralism.

Why participate in the event & survey? Here are at least Three Good Reasons:

  1. Your chance to shape current debates on multilateralism

Your input will shape the debate on October 23rd and will also be included in feedback to the United Nations. We will confront our panelists with your input and proposed solutions and we will base future engagement on the topic of multilateralism on your feedback. Additional activities, further debates and more engagements may follow.

  1. Your chance to enter dialogue with the German Foreign Office

The German Federal Foreign Office is currently developing a paper on multilateralism and is looking for your input and ideas! The purpose of the paper is to identify policy options to strengthen multilateralism over the next five years. By providing your answers you will provide valuable input. Interested participants may be invited to provide further contributions and enter into an extended dialogue.

  1. Full digital access to the Global Solutions Summit 2021

All participants who complete the survey will receive full access to the digital elements of the Global Solutions Summit in 2021. Your participation in the Summit will offer more opportunities to engage with relevant global issues, to present your ideas and to meet policy thinkers and shapers.

We are thrilled and honored to engage in these dialogues with the United Nations and the German Foreign Office, to strengthen international cooperation, coordination and solidarity and to help shape the future of multilateralism. Help us put your voices and ideas front and center and share this information with your networks. The event and the survey is open to everyone and we encourage a broad debate!

The event Young Voices on the Future of Multilateralism on October 23rd is a collaborative project of the Global Solutions Initiative and 1014. It is facilitated by the Young Global Changers - a network of young policy thinkers, activists and innovators from around the world.
