How do I register?

Registration is very simple:

Click on "Become a member" in the menu to go directly to the registration form. There you enter some basic information about yourself - for example your name, your position, your organisation and your connection to Stiftung Mercator.

After submitting the form, the community team will check your details. This check may take a little time.

As soon as your registration has been confirmed, you will receive an e-mail with an activation link that you can use to activate your profile.


I can’t find my program or affiliation – what can I do?

First, carefully check whether your program or affiliation is listed. If you are a project partner of Stiftung Mercator, please select the option “Project Partner.”

If you still can’t find your program, feel free to contact our community team via email at community@stiftung-mercator.de. We’ll assist you as soon as possible.


What are the benefits of MercatorGlobe?

MercatorGlobe offers you a wide range of opportunities to network and get involved:

  • Exchange & networking: Make contacts with other members of the community and exchange ideas on common interests and projects.
  • Information & inspiration: Find out more about current developments in Stiftung Mercator's fields of activity, gain insights into the foundation's work and stay informed about relevant calls for proposals and events.
  • Co-create & contribute: Share your own contributions, events or tips with the community - because MercatorGlobe thrives on participation!


How can I subscribe or unsubscribe from emails about news and events?

Would you like to receive invitations to events, calls for proposals, and news about the community work of Stiftung Mercator?

Under “Settings” > “Email Settings”, you can subscribe or unsubscribe from the Community Update. This newsletter keeps you informed about current developments, new calls for application, and invitations to events such as the MercatorGlobe Forum.

You can also set whether you would like to receive email notifications about activities on the platform, for example when there are new comments in groups.


What are groups?

In the "Groups" section of MercatorGlobe, you can network with other members on a thematic, regional or programme-related basis.
Whether programmes such as the meet!-Mercator-Europe-Tour, specific topics or regions - there are suitable groups for many interests. There you can comment on posts, exchange ideas and stay up to date.

The content is maintained by administrators and members. You will automatically receive email notifications about new activities in your groups - you can customise these at any time in the email settings.


I have an interesting call for applications or event – how can I share it?

Do you know of an event, job posting or call for applications that could be interesting for the MercatorGlobe community - for example from your organization or your project?

Then please send your information by e-mail to our community team at community@stiftung-mercator.de. We’ll review your submission and may publish it on MercatorGlobe.


How is data protection ensured?

MercatorGlobe is operated by Paulbergman GmbH and complies with all legal and internal data protection policies of Stiftung Mercator. Protecting personal data is a top priority.

You can decide which profile information – such as email address or phone number – is visible to others or whether you profile appears in the address book.

For additional security, we recommend enabling optional two-factor authentication (2FA), which is compatible with all common password managers.

What data is processed and shared with other members?

Your data will be processed in accordance with our privacy policy and the applicable data protection guidelines of Stiftung Mercator - in particular to enable targeted communication within the community.

Only what you expressly authorize will be shared with other members:

  • Under “Settings” > “Privacy settings” you can specify whether your profile is visible to others.
  • In the “Edit profile” section, you can control the visibility of individual fields - just click on the eye symbol next to the relevant field.

This allows you to retain full control over your data at all times.


I have feedback or a suggestion – who can I contact?

We look forward to your feedback, ideas and constructive suggestions for the further development of MercatorGlobe.

How can I delete my profile?

We regret that you want to leave the community.

You can request the deletion of your profile in the “My profile” > “General settings” section.
After receiving your request, our team will check the deletion request. Your profile will then be completely removed in accordance with the requirements of the GDPR.
