We ring in the new year with an encounter on the ice and invite you to our next alumni meeting in the Ruhr area to the ice rink of the Zeche Zollverein in Essen!
The illuminated facility along the coke ovens and chimneys is a highlight in the wintry Ruhr region and offers not only an ice skating rink but also several lanes for social curling. Here, Mercator alumni* can try their hand at curling as a team and compete against each other on January 6.
Wintery refreshments with hot drinks and snacks (at own cost) are available in the directly adjacent Winter Village and its booths.
For the general participation in the event and the curling the valid corona protection regulation and the "2G-regulation" (vaccinated, recovered) apply, corresponding valid proofs must be presented on site. In the waiting areas the wearing of a medical mouth-nose-protection is obligatory. We additionally recommend on-site testing, which is possible for visitors in the test center in Hall 8 at the UNESCO World Heritage Zollverein from 9:00 am to 05:30 pm.
