MercatorGlobe is the online platform of Stiftung Mercator’s alumni network. This is where we promote digital and cross-disciplinary exchange amongst more than 1.800 registered Stiftung Mercator alumni: grantees, fellows, employees and close friends of the foundation from around the world.


Membership in MercatorGlobe helps you learn about the network’s diversity, meet exciting people working in the foundation’s thematic areas and exchange ideas with alumni in your region and like-minded people. We also provide you news and event updates from the foundation, and tell you about opportunities to participate in and help shape the alumni programme.

In Solidarity with Ukraine

The EU and its partners have not succeeded in diplomatically preventing a war on European soil. After Russia's attack on Ukraine in violation of international law, our thoughts go out to the suffering people in Ukraine and to all those in Europe and elsewhere who are working for democracy, peace and freedom. Spotlight on: Jakob Peter

In 2020, Germany has achieved its goal of reducing emissions by 40% compared to 1990, mainly due to the special effects of the Corona pandemic. In 2021, Germany will probably miss its climate protection target. Mercator alumn Jakob Peter is the Secretary General of the Expert Council for Climate Issues and responsible for identifying climate protection gaps.
