The EU Commissioner for Justice, Didier Reynders, will speak on "Europe and the Rule of Law" on 27 January at 3 pm.

Prior to his term as Commissioner for Justice, Didier Reynders held the office of Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Belgium. Previously, he served as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Defence and Minister of Finance, among others. Mr Reynders studied law at the University of Liège.

The Humboldt Lectures about Europe aim to answer the question of how high-ranking representatives of European institutions assess the current situation and future of Europe. The event series is under the patronage of the Representation of the European Commission in Germany and is supported by Stiftung Mercator.
