Senior Fellow Steffen Mau receives one of the renowned Leibniz Prizes 2021 from the German Research Foundation (DFG).

At the end of the year, we are pleased to hear that the DFG has awarded Steffen Mau the Leibniz Prize, one of the most renowned research awards in Germany. The DFG is thereby recognizing his work in researching social transformations of the present and dynamics of social inequalities and polarization. The sociologist who teaches at the Humboldt University in Berlin is currently researching the change in the concept of borders in the 21st century as part of his Mercator Senior Fellowship "Borders and Territory".
