With the Mercator-IPC Fellowship Programme, you can turn your project idea on the topic of EU/German-Turkish relations or climate change into reality. Apply until April 3!


The Mercator-IPC Fellowship Programme is part of the Istanbul Policy Center-Sabancı University-Stiftung Mercator Initiative. The programme aims to strengthen academic, political, and social ties between Turkey and Germany, as well as between Turkey and Europe, by facilitating excellent scientific research and hands-on policy work.


What does the programme entail?

The Mercator-IPC Fellowship Programme enables its fellows to work on academic and practical projects at Istanbul Policy Center (IPC). Fellows gain access to a broad network of academics, civil society activitsts, and decision makers and receive a competitive compensation package with additional benefits (e.g. travel, family allowance).


Who can apply?

Outstanding academics, journalists, and professionals with significant work experience in one of the two thematic areas:

  • EU/German-Turkish relations
  • Climate change


How to apply?

Mercator-IPC Fellows will be selected by an international jury consisting of leading experts in the two thematic areas. The deadline for submitting project proposals is April 3, 2022, 18.00 PM (EEST). The fellowship begins on September 1, 2022.
