The call for proposals is aimed at women under the age of 35 who are interested in foreign policy and its influencing factors. The winning essay will be awarded a prize of 1500€ and published in the journal Internationale Politik. The deadline for entries is 30 June.

Under the slogan " A Quantum of AI - Thinking Foreign Policy Digitally", the network Women in International Security Deutschland (WIIS.de) and the journal Internationale Politik (IP) are awarding the Sylke Tempel Essay Prize for the fourth time.

This year's topic is the influence of digitalisation and networking on international thinking and foreign policy. The essay should address the following questions, for example: How can foreign and security policy use the potential of digitalisation and artificial intelligence and ward off new threats? How can democracies prevent, or at least convincingly disclose, the misuse of new technologies by authoritarian and repressive regimes? What is the role of the platform-based technology giants, which increasingly possess not only financial but also political power and are difficult to control? The text is intended to give impetus to the debate on how foreign policy needs to be rethought.

The call for entries is open to women under 35 years of age.
