The alumni network is your option to stay involved and connected with the Community. We regularly present opportunities for you to network within the community, take part in trainings and workshops and realise collective projects.
Alumni@Events
In addition to the Mercator formats (e.g., Mercator Talk, Mercator Forum, and Summer Reception), we regularly offer our alumni the opportunity to participate in external events. We cover the hotel and travel expenses. These events include international conferences and forums such as the Raisina Dialogue, the Munich Security Conference (MSC), the Global Solutions Summit (GSS), the Transatlantic Transportation Decarbonization Summit (TTDS), and the Athens Democracy Forum. The goal is to give you the opportunity to engage with experts in these formats and contribute your expertise and knowledge.
We regularly inform you about the latest calls for applications for Alumni@Events.
Mercatora
Whether international understanding, science, education, culture or politics: Many qualified women in our network tell us about considerable challenges they face when ascending to management levels or in leadership positions in their institutions. The program "Mercatora" offers Mercator alumnae the opportunity to exchange ideas and advise one another in a structured manner during a year-long seminar program. Alumnae receive an intensive career training off-the-job and learn strategies for professional and personal development in small groups and a safe and trusting environment among female peers. As part of the program, they can exchange ideas and experiences with other alumnae and experienced female experts from the Stiftung Mercator network. In addition, all participating alumnae ("Mercatoras") from recent program years organize joint activities and network meetings outside of the seminar series.
The application deadline for the next cohort has passed. We thank you for the numerous applications.
Mercator Globe Forum
The Mercator Globe Forum (formerly: "Mercator Winter Forum") brings the network together on-site and invites participants to collaboratively focus on specific key topics in various formats. The network event thrives on themes and contributions from our alumni and partners. Check out our video for an insight into the program of our last Mercator Winter Forum in Essen in 2020.
The next Mercator Globe Forum titled "Navigating VUCA!" will take place from March 12 to 14, 2025, in Essen. The event language is English. Register here by December 14, 2024!
