This year's Europe Speech with Mr Charles Michel, President of the European Council, will take place as part of the "We are Europe!" initiative on Tuesday 9 November 2021 at 19:00. The Europe Speech is an annual statement by Europe's highest representatives on the nature and state of Europe.


The programme

Doors open at 18:00pm.

19:00pm: Greeting by Prof. Dr. Norbert Lammert, former President of the German Bundestag and Chairman of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation

19:05pm: Speech on Europe by Charles Michel, President of the European Council

19:30pm: Greeting by Carla Hustedt, Director Centre for Digital Society of Stiftung Mercator

19:35pm: Discussion between Charles Michel and Lukas Hochscheidt (President, Polis180), Rina Hajdari (Alumna Hertie School of Governance), Anya Suprunenko (Executive Director, European Youth Parliament)  and Péter Techet (Journalist and Research Associate, Wir sind Europa, Alumnus Stiftung Mercator), moderated by Anke Plättner, Director of Internationale Journalisten-Programme e.V. and Project Manager of "We are Europe".

20:00pm Closing remarks by Dr. Volker Hassemer, Chairman of the Board of the Stiftung Zukunft Berlin and former Senator.
