Dear Mercator Alumni,
we would like to initiate a Mercator alumni group for the regions of Stuttgart, Karlsruhe, Heidelberg, Mannheim etc.. To get started, we will meet on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at lake "Feuersee" in the west of Stuttgart for a cozy outside get-together with punch and mulled wine (available to go from a nearby restaurant). The time we have in mind is 6:30 pm. Please take note of the currently valid Corona rules on site and provide necessary 2G(+) proof!

UPDATE: The meeting is taking place virtually on the platform

Mercator Virtual Lounge

We are very excited to start this regional network and to be able to exchange ideas.

At this first meeting, we would first have a round of introductions, where we can also describe our connection to Mercator. Then we would discuss which perspectives we would like to address within the framework of this alumni network.
For example, questions such as "what common themes do we have" or "what are our goals" could be addressed.

If you can't make it that day but are still interested in joining our alumni group, please contact us anyway so we can add you to the mailing list (depending on how we end up organizing ourselves). Please also join the regional group here in the alumniportal.

Who are we: we are Annegret, Ata and Daniela. Annegret is a 2018/19 Mercator IPC Fellow and leads a community network for education sustainable development (ESD) at the state capital Stuttgart. Ata is involved with the Junge Islam Konferenz and works in the area of taxes and prices at the State Statistical Office. Daniela was a Mercator Fellow for International Affairs in 2019 and is now doing her PhD on sustainable transformations at the Fraunhofer Institute.

We are looking forward to a pre-Christmas exchange and hope to meet many Mercator Alumni at our get-together!

Best regards,
Annegret, Ata and Daniela
